Joey Temeña (b. 1965) is a Filipino mixed-media artist based in Vallejo, CA who combines found art with a modern style of Ikebana. Rooted in the values of nature, family, joy, and spirit, he creates organic sculptures that direct our attention to the simple beauty of natural and ordinary objects. Often centering candlelight or a single flower, his compositions remind us of the impermanence of life and urge us to seek beauty in the lines, shapes, and colors of the everyday. His distinctive style has emerged from his earlier practices of abstract pencil drawing and mixed-media painting.
